Cal Poly is a university well known for its creation and production of food products, aligning with their “Learn by Doing” philosophy. This packaging system was developed to unite all brands of Cal Poly food ranging from ice cream to honey to meat. Because of the diverse range of product, an interchangeable pattern and an unique type solution was the most effective means of unifying the variety of food products. I wanted a pattern that resembled agricultural fields, and through much experimentation, I settled on an abstract represntation of a gridded field.
